A Great Photographer is owned and operated by Jim Guzel, a nationally recognized portrait photographer who has won numerous awards for his artistic skills.  His work has been featured in such well-known magazines as Popular Photography  and Ebony.  Beginning business in 1995 under the name of Afterglow Photography, Jim and his associates have built a solid international reputation for superb photography.

Jim also teaches portrait photography and Photoshop for the Washington School of Photography, lectures at local camera clubs such as those at the National Institute of Health  and the International Monetary Fund, and has for many years donated his expertise in photography to the National Park Service at Kennilworth Aquatic Gardens.

Jim is perhaps best known for his work at Aphrodite Photography  which he also owns and operates.  In the service of Aphrodite, he specializes in photography of the female form and artistic explorations of human beauty.  In partnership with Tiffiny Wolins, he has done ground-breaking work in combining dance with photography for the purposes of affirmation, exploration and healing through the arts.  Click here to visit the Aphrodite Photography and Aspire! websites.
